Good to know

East Village is the part of San Diego that feels like it was made for people who actually want to do things. Restaurants you've bookmarked, bars you've seen on social media, Petco Park is close enough that game day starts the second you step outside. It's downtown without the noise. A real neighborhood with real energy. The Row House sits right in the middle of it. Three stories, three king bedrooms, and the kind of space where six people can spread out without stepping on each other. The second floor is where everything happens — a wide-open kitchen and living area with an 85-inch TV, a pool table that doubles as ping-pong when someone gets competitive, a cocktail bar with a mini-fridge, and a wall-mounted arcade game for the moments between plans. It has the feel of a place designed for hanging out, not just sleeping. The kitchen is the kind you actually want to cook in. Good knives, real cookware, an air fryer, a blender, and a coffee bar with a grinder, a Keurig, a full pot, and enough counter space that breakfast for six doesn't feel like a production. Upstairs is where the trip shifts gears. The primary suite features vaulted ceilings, a live-edge desk with a wall-mounted monitor for checking in on work, and a bathroom with dual vanities. Down the hall: an infrared sauna that makes everything else melt away. A digital gym if you want to keep your routine. And up a pull-down ladder, a private rooftop deck with a two-person hot tub and a skyline that earns its own moment. Mornings hit different when everyone actually slept well. Three king beds across three private rooms means nobody's negotiating for space. A crib and pack-and-play are tucked in the closet for anyone traveling with little ones. The first floor has two bedrooms with LED accents, phone chargers, and their own smart TVs — plus a full bath, a washer and dryer, and direct access to the garage. One parking spot comes with the house, and street parking is available for a second vehicle. Outside, there's an AstroTurf patio with a three-person outdoor sofa — the kind of spot where morning coffee stretches longer than it should. WiFi runs at 400 Mbps, and every room has a smart TV. Self-check-in with a smart lock means you arrive on your own time. Petco Park is a ten-minute walk. The Gaslamp Quarter is ten minutes the other direction. Seaport Village, the Convention Center, craft breweries, late-night tacos, coffee shops that know what they're doing — all of it is close enough that the car stays parked the entire trip. This is the trip where you don't need a plan. You just need to show up.

I took my family to San Diego for spring break for four nights and this was the perfect location. Right downtown San Diego - super easy to get to off of multiple highways. Easy to get in and out of and felt safe with the gated entry and great to have our own garage/parking. The house is amazing – so high-tech. Super cool layout and decor and technology. Everything was there that we needed and more - even multiple sizes of Ziploc bags! Great location – able to walk to dinner and again easy to get in and out of to go to all the different sites. Check-in was a breeze – with easy instructions and clear communication. We really enjoyed our visit and the kids loved having king size beds! I love the little deck on the top floor – very relaxing to have a glass of wine when the sun was setting and my husband enjoyed the hot tub. We’ll look to stay again when we return to San Diego!

Amazing place with a responsive and welcoming host. This place is a dream inside with lots to do - ping pong, pool table, arcade gaming, wonderful comfortable living room area and tv, sauna, and hot tub. All the little touches from pots and pans to spices, coffee creamer, honey for tea, tin foil, etc in the kitchen., washer and dryer were easy to use with detergent provided. . Garage is wonderful but tight if you have a large car, our mid size SUV fit but was tight. Light blocking blinds to sleep in comfortably. Comfortable beds. Private gate for car was a little confusing at first, had to walk in and get the gate remote from the house to let the car in but once we got that it was easy, and appreciated a place that was safe and secure. Walked to local restaurants for meals and had great choices. Good distance with easy drive to all the hiking trails we wanted to do in the area. Highly recommend!

Really enjoyed our stay at Curt’s place. Most thoughtful amenities of any Airbnb we have stayed in - from common cooking staples to zip loc bags(!) to a sauna. Definitely will stay here again if we return to San Diego!

Getting Around East Village is one of the most walkable neighborhoods in San Diego. Petco Park, the Gaslamp Quarter, Seaport Village, and the Convention Center are all within a ten-to-fifteen-minute walk. Most guests never move the car. One garage parking spot is included. Two garage remotes are inside the home for the 10th Avenue and 11th Avenue vehicle gates. Street parking is available nearby for a second vehicle. Rideshares to the airport take about ten minutes. The Santa Fe Depot trolley station is a short walk if you want to skip the car entirely for day trips to Old Town, Mission Valley, or the beaches. For everything close — restaurants, breweries, coffee, nightlife — you're walking. That's the whole point of being here.
